T&B Presents… Heroes In Your Headphones

Tuesday, June 12th, 2012

Tired & Broke from the Philaflava forum posted a nice new comic and video game themed compilation this morning. Here’s what he had to say:

With the conclusion of E3 2012 last week and Comic-Con 2012 about a month away (and to try to bring more traffic to Electric Relaxation) I figured now would be a great time to drop this mix since gaming and comics are fresh on everyone’s mind.

It’s no secret the subject of Comics and Video Games have been a heavy subject matter and source of inspiration in the world of Hip-Hop for over 2 decades. There’s been entire soundtracks dedicated to it, and several independent artists have made “theme” albums based around a sole Character. Other artists have successfully based the majority of their career around Comic Book characters; Hero and Villain alike.

“T&B Presents… Heroes In Your Headphones” is a custom soundtrack I made of a collection of songs based around the theme of Hip-Hop, Comics and Video Games. Whether its the main topic of the song or the track has sampled elements from a gaming franchise or comic book cartoon series.

Enjoy.

PS: Mega Shoutout to the homey dirt_dog on the custom cover!! Son put in work in a short amount of time and looked out in a major way.

T.R.O.Y. Blog Presents: D.I.T.C. For My Whip [Compilation]

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

This is compilation that i made to listen it while driving in my whip. After i finished it i thought maybe it would be a good idea to share it, some might find it interesting.

Main goal was that tracks must have heavy basses so that i can pump it up loud, shaking the whip. Second, i wanted to put as much as possible Diamond D tracks and featurings which including either his production, heavy basses or heavy lyrics, or all of that three.

You may ask why haven’t i included some tracks from “Word..Life”, well i have that album burned already and i like to listen to it from a to z.

Shorty Long once was affiliated with Lord Fineese, but after that single, he continued working with DJ Mike Smooth, but that track, that beat is sooo hard, making you wanna break something or somebody.

Lord Finesse’s production from 93-96 was so pure, crisp and clear, with heavy bass lines and drums, you just enjoy when you hear that clearness.

So basically those are some of my favorite D.I.T.C. tracks. I wanted to include few more tracks and i know you may ask why you left out this track or that track, but it is how it is, and there wasn’t any more free space on the cd.

**dirt_dog on the cover.

Enjoy!

02. Diamond D – Best Kept Secret
03. Lord Finesse – Fat For The 90′s Feat. A.G.

Celph Titled – There Will Be Blood feat. O.C., Sadat X, Grand Puba, A.G. & Diamond D (prod. Buckwild)

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Whether you’re a fan of Celph Titled or not, an entire album of Buckwild beats has to entice you. The label (No Sleep) that put out Buckwild’s Diggin’ In The Crates: Rare Studio Masters (1993-1997) struck another deal with Mr. Best to use some of his leftover beats for this project. Along with that deal came an unreleased DITC collabo now (Celph) titled “There Will Be Blood.”

And to quote the great Daniel Plainview, “If you have a milkshake, and I have a milkshake, and I have a straw. There it is, that’s a straw, you see? You watching? And my straw reaches acroooooooss the room, and starts to drink your milkshake… I… drink… your… milkshake!” –Philaflava
