I’ve been waiting for the right time to drop this incredibly rare promo cd single, and installment 25 seems like a good reason to celebrate.

Not sure how the Wu got him to remix this track back in 94, but the pairing works quite well. Crazy C’s producing & remixing credits include, OutKast, Geto Boys, 8ball & MJG, Goodie Mob, Paul Wall and tons more southern rap artists. He’s even got a page on LinkedIn. -dirt_dog

Probably not my all-time favorite Ol’ Dirty material, but contains one non-album track. At the end of the album version of “Don’t U Know” he does say “part two coming up” but then goes into “The Stomp.” Who else could drop unforgettable lines like “easy on my balls, they’re fragile as eggs.” Miss you Dirty.

Nice little, somewhat elusive, cd single. Contains two non-album tracks. “Freak” is a full track while “Freud” is more of an instrumental with some cutting and scratching of vocal samples (word to Prince Paul!).

I was feeling a little guilty about being so late with last weeks Wu-Wednesday that I decided to put together a little Shyheim bonus RnB feature for you.

A premature RnB group, one-third Marques Houston. They later changed the group name to IMX because “immature” was no longer fitting their personalities. Remix has two verses from Shyheim.

Wu-Tang’s smallest artist. I always wished that Shyheim kicked a verse in TLC’s “Waterfalls” after making an appearance in their video. He had a great career going as a youngster, music, movies and TV. Then in 2001 got sent off to prison for a couple years. I know Shyheim helped form Bottom Up music and is about to drop a new album with Dom Pachino of Killarmy. Will 2011 be his comeback year? I hope so.

T.R.O.Y.’s Unofficial Wu-Monday (Week 10)

EDITOR’s NOTE: Okay we’re a few days early, but truthfully we’re actually a few days late. This was suppose to happen last week but due to overwhelming awesomeness it got lost in the mix. Please excuse our apologizes and enjoy some tunes from the man who brought you Black Shampoo. We’re back on schedule this week.

It’s always a little harder to dig anything up on some of Wu non-spotlight members, like Deck, Masta Killa or U-God. Here are are couple tracks from a promo cd-r single that landed in my hands in 2003. These tracks were released, but only on vinyl. Enjoy them now in cd quality.

Single Series: Original Flavor

Original Flavor was a group, originally consisted of Ski and Suave Lover. The duo released their first album in 1992, “This Is How It Is“, produced by Ski, except two tracks which were produced by Clark Kent.

For their second album, “Beyond Flavor“, (1993), Suave Lover was replaced by T-Strong and DJ Chubby Chub.

The group disbanded after releasing their second album.

All of their releases were published on Atlantic.

This week is a double dose of Davina. She was Loud Records R&B crooner, only dropped the one album in 1998 (plus several singles starting in 1984) and plays all instruments on the album. Not sure how she landed the Wu spots (and Xzibit), I’ll chalk it up to being label mates.

T.R.O.Y.’s Unofficial Wu-Wednesday (Week 7)

Picked up this CD single back in 1995 because it had the Wu-Tang logo on it. Three years later, Sunz Of Man finally dropped their album but only “Five Arch Angels” was on it. I know the other two tracks have appeared on various bootlegs and such over the years.
