Sometimes C’s are good: C-Nile, C-Murder, C-Note

In anticipation of Riff Raff’s Golden Child album, I started thinking about C-Nile’s album, The Golden Child (2001). This whole album hits hard, but it never really caught on.  At the time of its release, it featured some young Houston rappers, who have now grown into H-Town legends. You can catch Z-Ro, Lil Keke, 3-2, and Big Pokey on C-Nile’s, The Golden Child.  In 2003, C-Nile was arrested on a federal drug charge. He was released in 2008. I believe he’s back in Alabama making gospel music now. Ride With Me is a soulful jam off of his 2001 release, The Golden Child.

While thinking about C-Nile, I started thinking about incarcerated rapper, C-Murder. Brother of Silk the Shocker and Master P, C murder was a No Limit Records artist and member of the 3 piece rap group T.R.U. Riders is one of my favorite C-Murder tracks. It is from his debut album Life or Death (1998). KLC of Beats by the Pound is responsible for the excellent production on this track.

After listening to C-Nile and C-Murder, C-Note came to mind. C-Note was part of the Botany Boyz, a legendary rap crew from Houston, Texas. He is an original member of DJ Screw’s Screwed Up Click.  Makin’ Money Forever is from C-Note’s first solo album Third Coast Born (1999).  This is the perfect song to unwind to after puttin’ in work all day. –Droopy (@Droopydood).

The remix of C-Nile’s U Know Me with Juvenile & Skip is possibly the most underrated remix of the last decade.
