Is it just me or is KRS-One completely bat shit?

From his comments last month calling Lil Wayne the “Greatest MC alive” to saying “Jay-Z vs. 50 Cent would be the greatest Hip-Hop battle of all-time,” he has completely lost it. Am I right? Do you think with his comments and recent material taint his legacy in Hip-Hop? –Philaflava

LMAO!! He started going down hill with me when he said "you can't be hip hop and go to college" a while back. I don't know if he can really taint the musical legacy, but he's definately creating a new, crazy old guy legacy every single day.

Yeah, I respect his music, but when he was at Rock the Bells Detroit he had this long rambling speech to the crowd that was totally crazy. One of his main points was that there were people in prison that are geniuses and they had the cures for cancer and AIDS.

are those of you that commented above me serious. give me a break don't you know krs knows what time it is. he's operating on an entirely different level than allhiphop.com and alot of others. hes just saying if these two large cats – 50 & jay z have a battle they should do it in a style that respects the hip hop artform. and it WOULD be the most anticipated battle, perhaps not the most prolific in terms of skills but it would be the talk of every youngster and hip hoppa in new york city. unlike if you had jo schmo from somewhere USA, versus another like himself…nobody is going to care!

you kiddin' me! KRS set the stage for some of the most memorable moments in HIP HOP: Callin' out Queens, booting PM Dawn off the stage, doin' the H.E.A.L. and Stop the Violence movement. He is a living legend that is STILL doin' the damn thang! Who else is doing that! So you really can't fault KRS unless he has sold-out some how. He has maintained his integrity since day one.

As far as the battle is concerned, he does have a point in noting that this would be the 'greatest' battle concerning two giants of Hip Hop on so many different levels and bring an integral aspect of rap music back to its Hip Hop roots, regardless of monetary gain.

    Respect ya'll…

Nothing can taint everything he did from 86-96. Since then? He's a completely different human being now. If you were around him since the 80's and after the mid 90's, you know exactly what I mean. Word to Ill Will!

So KRS-One feels that Lil' Wayne is a better rapper than himself? And Rakim and Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap and Nas, etc. etc.? 'Cause all those guys are still alive, and most could likely outrap Lil' Wayne on any track. I don't pay attention to what KRS or Nas say or do, whether it regards hip-hop or not, both are less than shadows of their former selves.

I think, maybe, he just want to believe that the hip-hop is stayin' alive with the new comercial generation of rappers, maybe, just maybe he don't wanna stay out of this.
I really apreciate his last album with buckshot, I fill it like a reborn of krs…

Yo ive thought the same thing ever since i heard him go in on Def Jam at their Awards show saying "yeah that Jay-Z album is hot but that KRS-One and Buckshot is hot too" and ever since then I sensed a bit of eccentricity from Mr. Parker…

Come on… this is classic KRS-One… back in the day.. on that show 'Pump It Up' he stated that red meat was worse then crack. When questioned about his comment/what he just said, he repeated it… red meat is worse than crack…

KRS-One has always been a little crazy with his comments…

Going back to knowledge dropped on edutainment, american red meat is pumped full of growth hormones, antibiotics and goodness knows what, to the point that the European Union has banned the import of it!!

An like he says crack was (originally) for just blacks, while beef (and everything in it) is for all american teeth.

lol @ Jay Z should press a 'Recrrrd!'. Seriously though I'm not sure if he meant just a battle or a diss track battle, or both, if it was both then that would be pretty great. And btw he never said Lil Wayne was the greatest rapper, not MC, KRS is well known to make a difference between the two. He considers a rapper who is just rapper to be all about the record industry and at the time Wayne was sellin shit, so his claim was justifiable.

Like someone else said he has always been a little bit, shall we say 'alternative' with his thinking, perhaps nowadays when he aint sellin like he used to he's tryin to be slightly more controversial to keep people coming back for his opinion, but he definitely has people discussing things, like his 9/11 comments, whether Kanye is Hip Hop (which was needed), about Def Jam's legacy etc…
Just remember that a good teacher provokes discussion among his students.

I agree with KRS on this…. It's not about skills…. it would be the biggest because of the massive reputation they both have… it would reach way more masses than a Rakim vs. Kool G Rap (or whoever) ever would because only a percentage of people know who the fuck they are whereas every second person knows who 50 and jay are…

KRS seriously needs a new producer. Myself and mates of mine tear up beats all the time and have been since 1985… the bullshit beats that KRS rhymes on now are so wack it's ridiculous. The buckshot thing is total shite and I am completely gutted. I am deadly serious when I say I could produce and scratch on an entire lP from him and it would appeal to all people that know him from time. To be honest, I know so many underground producers that could do a better job than what he's on now it's sickening.

I first knew KRS from the 12:41 Success Is The Word 12 inch and bought every joint he came out with on wax upto his I got Next LP… after that he fell off. I love KRS for what he's done for Hip Hop but these are dark times for him musically.

The funny thing: soooo many people want to dis the teacher, but soooooo many people are still buying his concert tickets and wait for him to say something, controversial or not.

Maybe you are the fools and not Kris Parker.
