Nine – Complete Discography (1986-2008)

Nine
is the stage name of Derrick Keyes (born September 19, 1969), an emcee and protégé of DJ Funkmaster Flex from The Bronx, New York. Keyes got his break in late 1993 as a featured guest on Funkmaster Flex and the Ghetto Celebs’ “Six Million Ways to Die”. The verse showcased Nine’s harsh, gravelly flow and the artist signed a deal with the now-defunct Profile Records. He is known for the singles “Whutcha Want?” (1994) and “Any Emcee” (1995).

Holy hell!! I knew you were doing something pertaining to Nine, but I didn't realize it was this extensive. Thanks, thanks, and thanks. I was just listening to the 'Feel No Guilt' cut the other day and saying how I never realized Nine had any material before 'Whutcha Want'. That is before I got down with Philaflava, and I'm a pretty thorough 90's head. Props.

Wow, this is huge! Thank you so much. I had never heard of these unreleased albums, I am eagerly waiting for this download to finish. His first two LPs and singles were in constant rotation back in the day.

Also, the only other thing I see missing is his single as the duo named 24/7 with Jesse West. I will rip and upload my copy if I can find it.

Cool, thanks for the 24/7 link. This post made my day (and week).

I never considered Nine to "fall off" after his second LP because he had already been releasing records since '86.

Was just in DC talkin to my girl about a ruffneck venue Nine was supposed to play at back in 93/94. Streets was hyped to catch a glimpse of that dude live, even for just a couple verses. Homeboy chilled in the cut, watching the crowd and apparently it wasn't what he expected and he just *bounced* – leaving a lot of folks who gave him nothin but props w/ some sour tastes in they mouth. Pretty sure he never came back to perform in DC after that… Too bad cuz the cat had a wicked raspy flow – just perfect for that era. Would have been some competition for DMX even had he stuck around :/ big ups for the um, big up!
